Men's Collection Fall 2009: YSL

Nothing to lift the spirit here; Stefano Pilati, a designer who is genius, showed a mercifully brief 20 exits. I always find his work inspiring and exciting, and his menswear has been pushing fashion forward relentlessly, but this season, it looks like a half-hearted intellectual exercise. Looks vaguely Japanese, but mainly gloomy and worn.
