The absolute last drop has been pumped from my bottle of Biotherm Eau Vitaminee, and I've thrown it into the bin with a satisfying thump. Don't you love the sound a heavy glass bottle makes as it hits the bin? 'Thuunk' it goes, and I feel so much neater. The eau's actually the perfect discreet non-fragrance fragrance, just clean-smelling and innocuous, you smell slightly like an orange and a bit of blossom, very correct for a breakfast meeting, or a very hot day in the open. It's meant to be used as skincare and supposedly delivers Vitamin C to your skin, a pretty idea, and such a refreshing smell!
To replace this, I've exhumed the old bottle of Ayura, which Shiseido used to sell here (a good decade ago, I think). It smells of lemongrass and lime blossom and it's gosammer. You smell like a spa welcome drink for about five minutes, and that's all. The bottle sits very pretty (above) in your palm but I'm through with keeping stuff now, so I just want to finish it quickly.
On eyes: Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Creme Yeux to dab at the ghastly fine lines on the inner eye which seem to want to connect with the other eye by marching across my nose bridge (below). Obviously the creme is going to work. Just reading the name already feels efficacious, and the packaging is like some serious magic potion thing. Guerlain is just the best. Face wash: Sisley Phyto Blanc Lightening Foaming Cleanser is very mild and smooth and smells heavenly. I don't approve of whitening products (isn't the idea racist?) but this is even milder than my old cleanser (Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser) and it is Sisley. On neck: For the day, Jurlique's Day Care Face Cream, which is very rich, almost solid and smells great. I know, it's not a neck cream but it's all I have and I'm not about to trot out and buy something right now!
On lips: Nuxe Baume Levres, a brown paste in a tub to apply on my shrivelled lips, which are starting to look like crinkle-cut fries. Yes, age is terrifying and don't even let anyone tell you otherwise!
