Are we having fun so far? Trust Miuccia Prada to take what promises to be a watershed of weirdness season and push it, even coldly further. The denims in exaggerated surgeon's scrubs? The child's sailor sweater gone surreally stripey? The subtle shorts and sweater morphing into a prim governess's uniform of skirt and sweater?
And I thought it was going to be a dreary season...

ReplyDeletei love this collection. from the staging, styling, clothes everything.
its surprising how simple the clothes are and yet are still able to come off as fresh and new. only muiccia can show a 3 button suit in navy and make it ultra new and modern again. i've been researching her work recently, and i realize how magnificently she manages to style the simplest pieces eg; the white shirt, the cardigan, the grey suits. and put them into a collection together with crazy zany prints or studded shirts or fur helmets and create a coherent vision. she truly understands the entire commercial aspect of designing and never forgets that there are the customers that need a simple shirt, a great pant and a sharp suit and yet still manage to be one of the most forward if not most forward thinking designer. Bravo Prada!
i don't think there's anything in prada that isn't thought through, down to the simplest white shirt. it would be the proportions. her work is amazingly coherent because i think she stays true to herself and it is her vision, so it is single-minded rather than workshopped with a team of designers like almost all other labels.
