Kelly Reemsten

Paintings by LA artist Kelly Reemsten. Aren't they inspiring? They would make a great watches and jewellery spread.

  3. Dear Dennis: It is great isn't it? The technique is so acomplished and concise too.
Dear Carlos: I love incongruity. I had a calm christmas, lets just say.
Dear Beauty: It does have that quality, doesn't it, almost 'feminist' in texture - i wonder waht qualities in the painting bring out this feeling that she is about to kill a man. Can anyone analyse this? Dennis?

  4. i'm young but i'll have a go. well i'm getting more of a straight-housewife feel rather than murder. in the first few it looks more like her tools are her accessoiries. but the axe and the chainsaws, she holds them more firmly and agressive, doesn't she? in the strokes it's very firm and straight, so maybe it's saying you never know what to expect even though she looks very neighbourly. I think you can tell a very funny story by changing the order of the paintings a little bit haha. then it goes from accessory to possible weapon. don't turn your back on her or she'll tear you to pieces! haha
