Our Lady of the Crazies in Vogue Drag

It may be Vogue Drag but it's still drag!!! FongFan likes very much! She also want...I find the "beauty" spot below the eye VERY annoying. Photographs by Mario Testino. Of course she's promoting Born This Way - but no one is born with that much photoshopping, yes? She's just not very pretty is she, and you can so tell it's really eating her inside out! Photo below by Nick Knight.

  1. This post very funny! Ha ha... really, really bad pictures. Anna has gone bonkers and Mario T ought to be shot. In the words of beauty "Bang Bang!".

  2. Dear Rossie: Delighted that you had a good laugh! Well, I can sort of understand why sh would put Our Lady of the Crazies on the cover - obviously it would sell copies. What I don't get is why they would try to make her look conventionally 'pretty' and sexy? It does go very much against the grain of what she represents I think. It's sort of a sell-out for her right? Since she set out to make such a point of being a freak.

  4. I like it and I think she speaks to all who are born this way - ugly, weird, gay, whatever - that's it's OK , why pan her ?

  5. that doesn't mean she can just rip off several madonna tunes and melodies in one song... express yourself?

  6. Dear Anon: Because I suspect it's completely insincere and very much a pose - and with these recent incarnations, she's so wanting to be pretty and sexy - isn't she supposed to be opposed to whatever is considered conventionally pretty and attractive?
Dear Dennis: Not only is she ripping off madonna's tunes, she's ripping off her entire career. She's so lacking in originality, I must say and the outrage is getting tiring.

  7. Well for sure she's no beauty. She was hiding behind lace and meat and what have you , there's no way she can be presented as a beauty , if she's even trying she should stop. But ripping off or not this girl has got some talent , you do not become a monster hit merely being ugly and unoriginal.

  8. No, you get it by good producers and marketing...

  9. Dear Anon and Dear Dennis: She's talented for sure, and driven and all that - and that's why she's exactly the opposite of what she's marketing herself as - this representative of the outcast and the marginalised. This strikes me as a great hypocrisy. She's absolutely MAINSTREAM, isn't she, all the while pretending otherwise? The Vogue cover is absolute symptom of this hypocrisy for me.

  10. I don't even want to dislike her... i've actually been to to of her concerts. the monster ball and a smaller one before the fame monster. but there's this huge contradiction about her all the time. i'm not buying it anymore i guess. i love the battle for equality, but it's not very genuine to me.
