Shut The Door

Can I forget
The night you waited
Beside your door
Could it have been more
plainly stated? - for something more.

I was a fool,
not knowing what you waited for.
And then you smiled and quietly
Shut the door.
- Tennessee Williams

  2. Ooops. There was a word 'waiting' missing in the poem by Tennessee Williams.
And, no, I don't think I'm being opaque. I think if you read the posts carefully you can see what I'm thinking of.

Some of the fragments have been culled from old notebooks so they are fragmented, but I think you can still make some sort of sense of it?

Anyway, thanks for spurring me to blog. I now find myself thinking what to blog next, instead of what to eat next!

  3. Yes, I do get a sense of your fragments, etc., but I mean the specifics aren't there ("Only you know..." etc.

This style is fine, even admirable, as it is a spare understated style, and each post is like vignette.
