Men's Collection Fall 2009: Bottega Veneta

Creative Director Tomas Maier's response to difficult times? Stealth comfort in layers upon layers of subtle luxury that the eye can't see. The fine fabrics have all been treated to look gentle to the eye, and so the palette: Like swaddling. Please note that the difficult volume in the trousers of the past seasons is much reduced, the silhouette is neat, but comfortably so. Not a brilliant collection, but in the dna of the house, and very believable.

  1. i like how monochromatic they are. it seems effortless. just buy one colour from top to toe. appeals to my practicality.

  2. i actually think it works better if you're blonde? Then even the skin can look monochromatic. But you need to consider different textures for interest.

  3. His colour scheme always makes the grade no matter how blase the collection is sometimes.
SS was more well-thought out do ya think?

  4. In a sense this collection is more sobre? More 'reduced', and therefore I actually like it better. It's less self-conscious. Those wide-legged pants are for models only.
